An Elegant and Luxury Oasis Inspired by Water

Chengdu, with its rich history and beautiful rivers and canals, served as the inspiration for this unique design. Located at the junction area between the Chengdu Plain and Longquan Mountain ranges, Luxelakes is a place where history and nature converge. The designer, Jianmei Li, drew inspiration from the tolerance and beauty of water, and integrated water-resembled colors throughout the space.

The show flat features a carpet with a pattern of water waves, interspersed throw pillows, and curtains, all in a captivating ultramarine color. This color choice creates an elegant and luxurious atmosphere, evoking a sense of calm and tranquility. The dining room, which is relatively long and narrow, has been cleverly designed to appear less elongated. Chairs with oval and curved elements have been strategically placed around the dining table, creating a visually balanced and inviting space.

In the living room, greige walls and a white sofa create a cozy atmosphere, eliminating any coldness that metal adornments may bring. The TV background wall, designed with a dark gray color, adds a touch of grandeur and tranquility to the space. The designer has also incorporated gold accents throughout the living room, adding a touch of sophistication and avoiding any dullness in the overall design.

The master bedroom, with its light and neutral-colored furniture, exudes warmth and coziness. The designer has carefully considered the different living demands of each space, ensuring that every area meets distinct needs. The two guest rooms, for example, have different styles—one simple and the other incorporating Neo Chinese elements. Each detail, from the carpets to the paintings on the wall and the green plants, has been thoughtfully selected to enhance the overall aesthetic.

Completed in May 2018, the Chengdu Luxelakes Eco-City Show Flat is a testament to the designer's dedication to creating a quality living environment. By mediating the conflicts between luxury and elegance, and combining the aesthetics of high-income groups with the needs of modern daily life, Jianmei Li has achieved a harmonious and visually stunning design.

This remarkable design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019 for its outstanding creativity and ingenious incorporation of water-inspired elements.
